the characters in this image probably don't think they're ugly, because they're not ugly to each other. But they're also sinister, like a bunch of killers, or spirits who bring fear to people who know them. On that theme, you have a marvelous "illusion" here, where we can't quite know where reality is, and where mirror-images begin. There are definitely reflections here, but we can't fully know where. It's got wonderful illusions in it. And your characters are quite a melange of creepy, mysterious and threatening people---great facial expressions, one guy's got an axe, the woman has major weapons, etc; and the tall guy in front looks like he's stopping anyone from getting closer. Very imaginative, and very, very well articulated. You handled the reflections, the light, and the way they fill the room, very well. Plus, it looks like there's lots of blood on that woman's weapons...This would have made a good Halloween image!
