Description

The Stearman (Boeing) Model 75 is a biplane used as a military trainer aircraft, of which at least 10,626 were built in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s. Stearman Aircraft became a subsidiary of Boeing in 1934. I rode in the Stearman in my picture today. it was a blast! really literally when I would stick my head out the side to compose a picture. for the most part I just pointed and shot. I really enjoyed it. the wind was calm and the weather mostly clear except for haze. I could not take a picture without including the wings so I did just that.

Good for you! Looks like a nice sturdy little number. Generally, you wouldn't get me in a single engine plane, especially the little crappy ones you see today. Strange thing about me. I have acrophobia, but being in a plane or helicopter I am just fine.

I am sooooooo envious! LOL That would be a thrill, indeed! Great shot of this classic beauty, Richard!

Hope to be back full time in a few weeks...

Aaaahhh! You lucky dog. You make me jealous! I love those vintage planes! I'm thinking about making the glider license, but this is still not the same like flying those WWII planes!

A cousin flew in one plane like that (I dont remember the name), fifty years ago. He went sometimes above my grandmother garden in Champagne near Troyes. Great fun.
