Description
I got the chance to spend the (insanely hot) day at the Michigan Renaissance Festival with my sister and her family, who traveled all of the way from Virginia to Michigan just to do this. And I handed my best camera to my sister with the only rule "Capture the scenes that you want to remember".
I'm so glad I did, she has a nice eye for photography, and I knew she'd capture great moments. I didn't even notice when she took this shot of me, but I love how well it captures the madness of my costume.
Pretty much everything I'm wearing in this I made myself. The cloak was meant to be a curtain, the mask is leather, the bones are resin cast in a mold, and the stains are just paint.
This costume really draws attention at a Renaissance Festival, and yet is so hard to photograph.

I used to go the faire in Michigan with my daughter but Bristol's Ren faire was much closer to home. Great costume! Next faire I go to will be in Phoenix as I now live in Arizona.
