I fully understand changing an image that didn't satisfy you! I have a MILLION images that don't satisfy me---I could fill up half of North America with my mediocre creations, lol---and I love to transform them. That's why it's always good to keep unsatisfactory images: You never know when inspiration will come!
I love this. It's as if you dragged a metal rake over your image, and scraped it across the colors, and got this striated, 'scraped' effect. It makes the boat look like it's sailing into frigid winds. And you've turned the sky into a dramatic oil painting, with overlaying textures, etc. And you have some dramatic yellows in the boat, a strong highlight! It'a very dramatic and moody image---so whatever you did to your original image: Bravo!
