Description

This hollyhock is very old, because it's a pencil drawing I made in1987, one from our garden. It's a pity I can't write what I would like to. The thing is, in Dutch this flower is called "een Stokroos". In English it would be then Stickrose. And this "Stokroos" is, for being from 1987 (in Dutch) "Stokoud". In English so very old that you are like a stiff stick. But I don't feel like "stokoud", in fact more like a little chicken occasionally. LOL. Thank you very much for your friendship, love to you all!

LOL!!! Love your text! Language differences can be very funny. I used to run my English sentences through Google Translate before sending them to friends whose first language is not English. After they let me know that I was sending some very strange texts to them, I stopped. haha I was afraid I'd get myself in trouble if I continued. 😉

Great drawing, Mies! You have SO MUCH talent !!! Regards to you and Karel--I hope you're both having a wonderful weekend! ~Robert

I had to go back in time and comment on this. I saw this when you posted it, and I almost "broke my RR silence" and commented on it right away. I love this drawing, and the swirls, and the recesses, and the light too---I assume you did those lights either with paint or with digital means. However you did it, you made a magical Stokroos, it feels like it's filled with magical powers. And your drawing of the furls and folds of the flowers is very sensitive. Wonderful to see your drawings again, Jacomina.

Well I'm at 1 hour and 10 minutes, and I must move on because there are other galleries I haven't visited yet. But I commented on 14 images (I think), and it was a great pleasure. If I were faster at commenting, I could have commented on all your images from October 1st until now. But I'm not fast enough. Beautiful work as always, Jacomina, and I hope you are doing well, and in good health, and I hope life is blessing you every moment with light and joy...
