Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Beautifully done Andrea! You mentioned a couple of times in your comments that I have moved a lot, or words to that effect. When I was 20 I left Germany with the idea that I want to see the world, or at least as much as is possible. I have been to many places, but there are many more I would like to see.

this is probably not going to be possible, but I'm gonna try to comment on all of your Inktobers while I'm here, the next number of days. At least as many as I can do in a couple of sessions. I don't remember where the name comes from (Inktober), but I remember it in your gallery, and it was a thrill to see you post drawings again, esp 1 per day, even though you started when I was offline. I saw everyone though (as I did your other uploads), so here goes. (This is NOT a statement on your other work, which you know I love, of course: Just that when you post this many drawings, it's a rare treat.)
A leaf is fitting for october. Fuil size it radiates out from the center. And I love your mix of lines, squiggles, circles (ovals), and long stem-y things, and how they all combine into this single organism. I've noticed how you combine different shapes and textures into a compact whole in these drawings, and I've tried it, and so far not done very well. (Andrea, I'm losing my drawing abilities. The sketches I've done anew this week? They're awful!) Your washes have a nice metallic quality on this shiny paper. Love it.
