Description
After three super hurricanes that devastated large parts of the U.S. & the worst mass shooting in our history over the last month, I'm feeling sad, angry, depressed - not only because of those events, but because we find ourselves with a government that is controlled by men who are too greedy & too stupid to do anything constructive to prevent future occurrences of these types of tragedies - such as mitigating the worst effects of climate change or preventing the sale of military style weapons to civilians. I know some of you will disagree with me, but that's my opinion & I wanted to get that off my chest.
I took this shot of redwood bark at Jedidiah Smith Redwoods State Park a few months ago...

Superb textures in this beautiful capture. Looking on from a distance I can't believe that people run round with so many guns, and how easy it seems to be to buy them. :)

that does look like a dog climbing up the tree. I'm too frustrated to make my thoughts known to the public without being banned from the Internet. My thoughts and prayers go out to all!

Of course I'm in total agreement with your thoughts on guns. The most draconian elements of this society have been given the greatest boost in their history by the rise of Trump and his minions. And there's even less chance of any constructive action being taken re guns. Yesterday night, a major report came into the news about climate change, which affirmed the human cause for it in unequivocal terms. We can be sure that the Trump camp will spit on it. I've always said that America isn't to be compared to one European nation, but rather to the whole European continent: We have that much diversity and numbers; and, just as there are very progressive societies in Europe, there are very draconian societies in Europe, and we have both. (A generalization, but with deep truth to it.) Even the progressive countries in Europe are now moving in the dark direction. It's a scary time. And it's just come out that the Clinton camp definitely---on record---influenced the DNC in her direction---something we knew as it was happening, but this confirms it beyond a doubt, confirmed by an old Clintonite, Donna Brazile (sp). It's been a bad few years, which is depressing as people like Sanders and others are the future, while people like Trump are a deep dark draconian past...very depressing to see his like become so powerful...
Your one regular, one postworked approach has been very enticing. I really like the bulbous flow of these lower tree forms, and your light gives strong contrasts to the 'spill'. The orange on the dark side of the most prominent bulge is a strong contrast to all that white and light beige. A strong and textured texture piece.
