Description

The men taking their son for a walk. Iago and Millenium Kid by ZetaStudios3D. Brad by spectre3. JeanZ for Mike with the great textures available at Daz. Pjaj's Low Cut hair, Daz's Wedge cut, PoserWorld Business school (no one does a scene like Steve). Canvas shoes available in the MP here. Side note: I have no idea why there are no ground shadows. I tried to rerender and had the infamous C-Exception error, and lost everything. Ah well, I knew I should have saved it before I rendered.

Black Adder, in Oregon we call it "adoption". Look up the term in the dictionary. I suggest you read "The Kid" by Dan Savage. This ain't Florida where we had to find someone new to discriminate against when Jim Crow disappeared.

Yes, it is a family. A good family, with two loving parents and a healthy and safe home. Kimpar, you may disagree, but to me, the artist, it's one of the best kind of families.

Great image Jim. To me that's a good family. To all those who say otherwise I have a simple question, just what is the current divorce rate in the good ole US of A at the moment? Would those examples rate as good families?

It is, too, a family! Wake up, you narrow-minded, homophobiac whatevers... It's a very nice render, it shows the unity of this family very well, the boy looks rather happy, and the couple looks both proud and caring. Well done!

"The men taking their son for a walk." Funny how just a few words can bring the narrow-minded folk out of the woodwork. Otherwise - they may have thought it was a man and his brother and the son of one either of them. shrug Of course it's a family! There are two caring, commited people who have taken on the responsibility of raising a child. Adoption is not an easy process and it's made even harder for same sex couples. I'm sorry - but there are plenty of messed up kids in a 'traditional' family setting - who dares to assume this image's scenario is worse simply because it is two men? Gawd - I could rant forever it seems about this, but I will simply say, pdxjims, that it's a good image - one that many of us, straight or otherwise, should aspire to - a happy family. :)

This is a great image Jim - wish it were true for all of us. [Though I'm not too sure my partner would agree with that ;)] And I agree - it is a family.

I love "Dad without the socks" making sure Junior doesn't fall off. Very sweet, very caring, good picture. Here's to a future that can see Family in the heart and not the physiology.

This is an excellent pic, Jim. The figures are nicely posed, very relaxed looking :) As for the subject matter, I'd sooner have these parents than a lot of the str8 ones that hit their kids and so on........

It's a very nice image. Although it is a little dark in the shadows even though I like the shadowing. Screw these homophobes that think all gays are perverts. I've met more hetero perves in my lifetime. Just look at the talk shows.

lol man do I remember the days of the kid riding on my shoulders, getting startled and choking the crap out of me...lol Nice work. These days a kid is lucky to have two caring parents. Nice job. I would loosen the left hand of the one on the right, looks just a little stiff. Love the look on his face.

I have the upmost respect for you and your courage to post this image. I knew the second I saw it that there would be a few narrow-minded and just plain stupid people who would get the wrong idea (I am talking about Kimper and Black Adder specifically). Hopefully evolution will take care of people like that and eventually breed them out. You keep the beautiful images coming, pdxjims, 'cause our society needs to start excepting scenes just like this one.

You GOOD BOI! that's what I call a family... and we don't care what other people think... not all of us believe the same... so back off on telling us what and who family is!

What a beautiful family :) That's the thing I love about family, it doesn't matter if the parents are mom and dad, dad & dad, or mom & mom... so long as there is love. Wonderful work.

Cool image (statement wise ) As for studies.. there are a hundred studies on one thing.. and they all draw different conclusions. Why? cuz they are paid for the conclusions. Do not believe in studies cuz they aren't the truth. never are and never will be.

Note to posters: Please comment on the ART. If you make conclusions about a theme, they may just be your own. Do you like the style? What can I do to improve? This is a family. It may be two uncles and nephew, it may be a father and son, and a good friend. Of course, it also may be a loving gay couple with their happy, healthy child.

I think they are commenting on the art by commenting on the theme. IMO, the very best art does stir people up in just this way. By that standard, you've done a good job. :-)

I like the image. Though if I had done it, I think I'd have made the figures a little more "average" looking, rather than the super-buff, beefcake types. Ordinary people, a la Norman Rockwell.

Great posing of the kid and his dad, that must have taken a lot of tweaking! Both the child and dad-on-the-left seem a bit shiny in their skin whereas the other dad seems more matt. Maybe the highlights need to come down on those two textures?

It's a good image, and a great statement :)

GREAT pic of a loving family. "Family" to me has more to do with love and careing than genitals. GREAT WORK!! GREAT THEME!!
