Description
Taken on a coastal trail at Thunder Rock Cove, which is between Brookings & Gold Beach on the Oregon coast. There were quite a few of these beauties growing along the trail...

am skipping only so I can get a broad swath of what you've posted in the last month and a half or so (since I was mostly away). I'm already at 40 minutes, and I'm only in early October...As I always say, I only skip for time because of the length of many of my comments, not because of quality. I could just as easily comment on the others, and have as much to say...
The key in this image is the beautiful contrast of light and dark, and of yellow and orange against a deep, deep green (the background). It's simple, and the contrasts make the solo flower stand out all more. And the 6 stamens look like bells or handles coming out of the flower. A little poem.
