you don't do a lot of straight urban images, so it's always a treat when you do. You've captured the glittery and crass feel of the backside of a huge city, you've made the background almost a watercolor painting. Everything 'drips", even the signs. A misty, rainy dream of a place, with very dark sinister elements. It drips down from the sky.
The main woman is in sharp focus---really well done, great detain in her skirt, purse, shoes, etc. And the taxi seems doused in shadow, making its mystery (and its lights) stand out all the more. We don't know if he's hiring her, or a friend---nice mysterious story line. THe piece radiates with late night urban light and lost dreams---you even have "Dreams" on a sign on the right---and it captures the backside of every huge downtown, just behind the glitz and glitter. Beautifully done, Steve. Chicago has streets like this---not far from where I live...
