Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Great characters, with wonderful matisse-like colors. And two peeking over shoulders! And a great dog (i think on acid!) behind them, in b/w. And I like how you divide the background into a heavy lined section (2/3) and an open section (1/3) (maybe a window or door?) The man's front shirt is good too, with that criss cross pattern. A really full piece, based on simple drawings, but very full. And I love the colors in the front two people's faces...Your ensemble pieces are terrifically expressive.
(and, skipping to a recent upload, how is it you need to put on weight? how do you do it? when I passed 60, I put on weight just from looking at some foods. If I think about chocolate, I put on weight. My digestive tract wrote me a letter, upon turning 60, that said: "Remember when you could eat a lot of food, and still stay thin? Those days are over!" I would have no problem putting on weight, Andrea. I wish I had your problem...)
