Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I hope my coffee stains don't become worms

LOL! This is great! And coffee stains (and any other stains) make wonderful inspiration for doodling. Sometimes I'll see a shadow that sparks a doodle (e.g., a towel on a towel rack and the shadow looks like the head of a hound dog). Or sometimes it's just fun to squiggle with a pen or pencil for several strokes without really thinking about what you're doing, then see what kind of interesting doodle you can expand the squiggles into. Patterns in clouds, tiles, etc., are also great inspiration, but coffee stains are definitely "essential tools" in the doodler's toolbox. (Boring lectures and meetings are also great motivators)
Love this piece!

mistakes are great inspirations---I love how you turned these into worms---who fly or are underwater, and they look like they're made of real objects---I mean like pasta or pretzels collaged onto the painting. Their color is great against all that sea green. I love the washes in the sky too (or water)...little blurbs floating upwards, along with a distinct underwater feel to the plants. You did a great job capitalizing on a mistake, a delightful piece.
(I want you to know it's not easy leaving your other works behind...but I'm over halfway through your drawings, so I may actually comment on everyone of your inktobers!) (and it kills me that I can't produce a single drawing worth anything right now, because I'm dying to contribute, after seeing all you've posted...)
