Description

Night time fears by SR Hulley Sweet darkness Decending down Deep, deep into my soul Shrug away Nightmares brewing Menacing imps taking their toll Cobwebs forming Cotton wool balls Soft, fluffy Claustrophobic as hell Stuffed in my nose Ears, mouth and throat Turning my dreams To an internal cell Sometimes insomnia Is freedom to me It captures the nightmares And sets me free But then again As alertness does flee The sticks at the windows Makes a trembling knee It's not only in sleep That the fears take hold It's the dark places and noises For the three year old!

Great poem - I didn't see the last line coming - the three-year-old - it would be true for so many older people too!

It was definitely a mix of both old and young 😁 Insomnia for me and imps for my grandson 😇

Like it.. the surprise is at the end. I was thinking an adult for some reason, but in fact, the night time fears are definitely that of a 3 year old.

Clever little sausage ain't ya!
