Description
When the group arrived at the site of the unknown object, they all stood for a few moments to study the thing before them. Breaking the silence, Petra was the first to speak. "Looks like a sculpture of some kind," the dwarf said, "dunna look like any I've ever seen, wonder who carved it?" Following Petra's lead, Lilith added, "You're right Petra, I've been to many galleries and museums, I don't recognize the artistic style either. I sense no magic bound to it, it's just seems like a couple of rocks." "I also sense nothing abnormal, as Lilith said. I feel nothing other than the spirits of the stone," Lyranda chimed in. "I think the real question we all have," Hikaru contemplated aloud, "is what is it doing here, of all places?" Responding to Hikaru's inquiry, Cailin took another step toward the sculpture, "that is a question we may never find an answer to, it is quite beautiful though."
Suddenly, the object emitted a blinding light of the purest white Cailin had ever seen. Raising her hands to protect her eyes, her vision blurred and all went dark. "Cailin!", Lilith screamed out as she watched the young woman suddenly collapse to the ground. Rushing to her side, Marren lifted Cailin a bit off the ground and looked up at Lilith, "what happened?", the man asked. "I don't know, Marren," Lilith responded, "one moment she was looking at the sculpture, then quickly threw her hands up and collapsed." As the rest of the group gathered around Cailin, Lyranda reached out and took her hand, "she's not injured or suffering from a sickness," the druid informed the rest, "but it feels as if she is in a deep dream sleep." "Whatever the hells it is, we need to get her back to camp," Petra called out, "we can't do her any good out here in the middle of the woods."
Without hesitation, Marren scooped Cailin into his arms and began to carry her to the camp, "lets get away from here, we'll worry about that damn thing later. Lilith, you and Lyranda go ahead, set up a proper recovery area, the rest of us will be along shortly." "Right away, Marren," Lilith responded, "we'll have it ready before you get there," then turning to Lyranda, "come, my love, we have work to do."
As Marren watched the two women run off in the distance, he turned his gaze toward the face of the woman cradled in his arms and whispered to himself, "don't you dare try to leave me now..."
