Your black and white images are always wholly suited to black and white. This is a perfect example. Great highlights on the metal, and strong shadows too. I love the texture on the right, and the softness on the left. (Contrast/balance.) And you got a brownish tarnished tone, which suits this perfectly, and makes it intense. A perfect treatment for your subject.
(Many of us use black and white; but doing it beautifully is another matter altogether. This is an example of the latter.)
