Description
Part of an area in the central Cascade Mountains west of the town of Sisters that suffered a very large fire in the summer of 2003. A little over 90,000 acres burned over a period of about a month. You can look at the spindly, bare white trunks as the aftermath of a great catastrophe or at the new green growth as the beginning of new life for the forest - both are there...

Both sad and beautiful a wonderful picture my friend :)

It's a cycle. Fires have been happening, with or without us, forever. The land renews, regenerates, and reinvents itself over and over again. There's beauty in every part of the circle.

Great capture! It looks like places in Yellowstone where fires happened decades ago.

So very sad to see such places, but the good thing is, that mother Nature really works hard to bring back the life.

you caught the strange ragged jagged music of this leftover sight, and the white highlights give it a jagged repeating rhythm across the frame. The sky's blue is deep and chrome-like in spots, and the clouds make a full white sheet for contrast. From left to right it's like a series of vertical beats, playing out a strong set of rhythms. And your postwork made the rhythms of this thing really radiate. Looks like you softened it in some way, and allowed the verticals to dominate. You got at essences here.
