Description
Checkpoint Charlie (or "Checkpoint C") was the name given by the Western Allies to the best-known Berlin Wall crossing point between East Berlin and West Berlin during the Cold War (1947–1991).

I was there in 2006. Man, I sure remember the day that black/white photo was taken. The threat of war over Berlin hung thick in the air. We had neighbors who rented a truck, filled it with necessities and were ready to drive to the mountains in Vermont of New Hampshire. Thank goodness that time is past. But now we have terrorists who strike anywhere, which is worse than a totalitarian regime as anyone can become their victim. I like the color photo. Reformed KGB agent? Keep up the good work! :-)
