I knew a few real shamans (Native American), and they were stunning people. That song you mentioned, above, is about a native plant (datura) that some called the "herb of the devil". You've conjured the strange, other-worldly feeling of using those plants over a fire. You created the eerie light, the deep shadows, and beautiful smoke---your smoke is exquisite, both in the soft sections, and the upper 'layered' sections. I only tried Native American mind-expansion herbs a couple of times (I didn't do well with them!) but I learned a world about plants and herbs and healing from the shamans I knew. And they often sat around fires, and loved this deep, intense light and smoke. A magical image. Really well done.
