Had some fun making this duck rider this evening. Watercolor and fineliner and my imagination. Have a good day/evening. We had grey windy and cool weather. Thanks for your visit :)

I cast my vote with those who believe the world would benefit from you doing children's book art! This is such a delight! I seem to recall a zebra ...

This makes me think of a poem by Jack Prelutsky entitled, "Ride a Purple Pelican." It's been a favorite of mine for many years, but when I married Bill, it went even higher on the list. It's because Bill has a New York accent, so even if I told you why it was funny it probably wouldn't translate very well. Suffice to say he "talks funny," and this short poem contains a multitude of words that give away his New York roots! LOL!

Yes, you definitely had fairy tales in your mind when you did this! (Whether consciously or not.) Love the image, a kid riding a giant duck! Right out of the Grimm Brothers, or H.C.Andersen. And you have two towns nestled in the background---one on each side of the image: That's real medieval stuff, fairy tale stuff. And the kid turning to wave. Terrific piece, Helle, and I love the quick purples and flowers and slate blues in the background for trees, and your quick clouds...just enough for the details. A total delight, in theme and execution.

Helle, I'm at an hour and 30 minutes, and I still have some galleries to do, so I have to stop for now. I think I did 18 images or so...but I'll get more before I step away. (I haven't commented on that vivid watercolor, the upload before this.) But it's a real joy to be here! And I'll drop you a letter soon...
