Hi, I am Barbara and live in Lincolnshire. I love nothing better than walking with my 3 dogs, (Large Munsterlanders) and taking the camera along. Iam afraid my photographic skills are not very good, I just point and click & hope for the best. Sometimes I do take some nice shots!!
I have lived with this breed since 1986, before that I had border collies. I was told when getting my first Munster, Jenna, I would become addicted and I sure was, owning 7 of this breed over the years.
Although Munsters are a working gundog, afraid I couldn't shoot anything, so we do other things like, showing, obedience and heelwork to music.
The girls are all different & I hope to show that in their pictures.
I would like to thank my good friend Janeeden for persuading me to get started.
Video's & songs for the girls can be seen on www.jendellas.com

Super shot barb no what you mean about being chained I suppose its for the publics benefit what would happen I think if some idiot with a drink in them spooked them or something like that! we get them here periodically in the exchange centre in Glasgow they are very beautiful of all the owls the barn owl is my fav for sure thanx my friend!!

Great shots of these wonderful owls, but yes I do agree with the tethering thing. I wonder if they are perhaps rescue owls and not able to be released for some reason, or maybe part of a conservation breeding programme.
My lil owl is impressed! hugs and love xxxxxx

I've seen someone like this in our centre too, but they were all rescues

If they are rescue animals and can't be released, then I can understand the tethers and using them as teaching aids. Perhaps they are free in their aviary. It's sad that this happens, but good that there are people willing to care for them.

Cool, great captures!

I would imagine that they are rescues and cannot be released - great picture

I agree with you (unless there is a reason that they need to be tethered--I mean a reason that benefits the birds, not the humans; for instance, if they would not survive if released into the wild).
Great photo!

What a beautiful owl. Likely it was a rescue.
