Description
There were quite a few of these islands along the Metolius River. Not sure what those plants are - they look a little like Queen Anne's Lace without the blooms, but I don't think that's what they are...

another vivid landscape shot of trees, water, plants, grasses, and (here) small houses, cabins, etc. The contrasts between lights and darks are very strong and give an etched feeling to the whole. And your water is almost a dab-filled painting, with a slight Monet feeling to it. You have a strong grain---or whatever else one might call it---which you have every so often. For me, it creates its own feel and world, and that feel almost creates a second picture. There's a certain tension between it and the other elements of the picture, and I've never resolved those tensions in pictures like this, so I let them be. But they can lessen some of the hues and other shapes, while they bring out a deep electricity at the same time. The picture pulses and is very lush.
