Description


The Pythian Home of Missouri, also known as Pythian Castle, in Springfield, Missouri was originally built in 1913 by the Knights of Pythias and later owned by the U.S.Military it was closed when I was there and I chose not to disobey the no trespassing signs hence the fence in the way

They must have hired the same architect that designed the R.A. Long home - I think it's still owned by the Kansas City Museum. It has the same castle-like look... Our camera club (now long disbanded) used to have meetings there many years ago.

It's cool that Rod was there too...I sympathize with not being able to go further out of respect for no trespassing signs. All the same, you got a bold angled shot of this old interior, with fine bleached light, and beautiful shadow. You captured the 'presence' of the thing. It looks quite noble, in your capture.
