They don't build them anymore with the great archetecture you see on this structure. Love the design and your shot, Mark. Love all its beauty.

outstanding architecture. I am glad that I was not called on much to paint 3 story homes

This is a wonderful scene. It creates a nostalgia for a place I've never been. I want to live on the third floor so I can stand on that curved balcony and wave to the adoring crowds below. This would fulfill my dictator fantasy that lurks deep within me.

This leaves me with a sense of nostalgia as well, but it's for that beautiful, sunny Friday when you and Marilyn and I walked the Near North Side together. (Well, okay, you and Marilyn walked together while I lagged behind taking pictures of asymmetrical arches and other fantastic architectural details! LOL!) Unlike Mark, I would prefer to be in the shadows of the second-floor balcony, sitting in the shade with a season-appropriate beverage. In my fantasy, Mark and his ardent followers are on the other side of town, leaving me to enjoy the beautiful surroundings in peace.

I really love the painterly look this has, Mark. What a wonderful study in shapes, and light / shadow! And such wonderful nostalgic architecture.... The cupola and balconies are so inviting.. This does tend to transport one back to a quieter and more carefree time. Beautiful image, Mark!
