Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

They seem to be doing very nicely together. I wonder what they're looking at?

You mentioned sunday with puzzles: I'd pay you if you captured them doing a crossword. Anyway, I love the light in this---high key on much of their furs. And they're both at attention, looking out into your garden (I assume). With that light on them, they are stars. I love this shot.
(I used to tell people my childhood dog had a PhD in French Existentialist literature, and was particularly fond of Camus. Later, I had a goldfish whom I named "Max Schlemmer, PhD". I got him a pen and pencil set with his name and degree on it, and put it in front of the bowl. And I got him a dog---for real---a little plastic dog on a leash, in his bowl. Friends would call and leave him messages. And whenever we went out for fish, I'd leave Max a note saying, "sorry..." When he died, he was so famous, we had a service in Lake Michigan. I'm not joking. Since Max was Jewish, I sang the Kaddish...)
