Description

I took this picture for documentation purposes. A friend of mine, who has aphasia and can no longer communicate, showed me this part of his house. He indicated that there is some damage. I couldn't see anything that looked like it needed fixing, but he insisted that he had seen a tile on the ground, below this part of the house. So I took a picture and contacted, the HOA (Home Owners Association), the builder to find out who the sub-contractor had been when this house was built in 2000, and others that may have an idea whether this is actually damage or not. Not much came of it. The other day I cleaned up my phone of old pictures to free up space, and I was just about to delete this picture. It had served its purpose. And then I looked at it and realized that it is actually a pretty interesting composition. I got to thinking if this picture had been taken by a world-famous photographer, or had been created a century ago by a renowned painter, it would probably fetch thousands if not millions, depending on the fame of the creator. Dozens of so-called experts would analyze the composition and the meaning of it and offer their opinions, for a fee. This just shows the fickleness of the human mind. It is just a picture I took to show someone to get an opinion of whether this tile arrangement is normal or if it is damaged. This picture was taken on 10 September 2017, Sig...

the picture is unique and interesting but your commentary shows just what the human mind can and will do when given the chance

many time tiles are missing nails or they simply came loose allowing tiles to finally slide out. they are so touchy trying to repair, because one wrong step and they will break. I was roped into making repairs a few times. even composition shingles and shakes are missing nails. I fixed so many roofs with such problems

When I saw this on the page, I thought, "Why Sig! An abstract architectural shot! You're really branching out!" When I read your description, I had to laugh. You're right, though. It's a terrific shot, with wonderful diagonals and composition.
