Description
In September of 2011, Bill and I took our first car trip from Washington to Kansas. I took this picture at the top of the hairpin just east of the Columbia River on Highway 2 (for Fae Mike and others who know the area), but was never quite happy with it. Last night I came across it again, and ran it through a couple of filters in Topaz. It was love at first sight! I do like Topaz for this sort of thing. :)
We have since been on that road many times together, and always talk about the first time we stopped to look back at the hills of the Columbia River valley.
Today is Bill's birthday, which means he doesn't have to do any chores and I encourage him to fiddle around doing whatever he pleases.

So what did this look like before the medication kicked in? A wild image and an outstanding use of the Topaz filters. But then, when something is made with love how can it not be fantastic. A great gift. Happy birthday, Bill.

I've appreciated Topaz, but haven't joined the 'movement'---but boy did you make magic with this. (And I save disappointing photos for the same reason---they can be redeemed later on...or used for blends. Or Salsas. Or Curries...) This is glorious. It has a Southwest magic. The red browns on bottom and deep pinks in the middle are scrumptious. The sky is like you painted it with cloud-stuff. And the layers---from bottom to middle to top---are just right. Beautiful job with Topaz, and a perfect dedi for Bill. Happy Birthday Bill! I'm so happy for you and your life, and your blessed life with Tara! And great dedi, T; and man, you did a bangup job with ol' Topaz, on this.

I like what you did Tara. Time sure flies. I remember when Bill first mentioned that he had met a lovely lady on rendo and that there may be more to it than just a casual chitchat on rendo. I usually don't pay attention to birthdays and I know it is late, but better late than never. Happy Birthday Bill!
