This is almost a deep chasm, with light coming from within...the 'front' effusions (those big sweeping ganglia and parabolas that seem to be in front) hide a well lit interior...or maybe it's the 'outside'---but whatever it is, it beams in light. Amazing how you create so much depth in these pieces. And the frontal ganglia are just that: Intense crammed-together stalks of light and hue, like an overcrowded forest of futuristic wires. (Ever see the back of a music producer's studio? Where he/she puts all the cables? You might have gotten a photographic reproduction of some of those spots!) As always, masterfully done, and very expressive and powerful.
