Thanks. This was D&D scenario in a campaign I ran many years ago, but the group never stumbled across it.The dragon didn't want sacrifices and had no intention of eating them, but the villagers were basically a bunch of misogynistic idiots who wouldn't listen. So the dragon would carry off the sacrificial offerings under cover of darkness, shelter and educate them, and when they were ready, fly them off to start a new life.
