Description

Just of you were interested to see the original Shot. Maybe mostly for Mark. :) The Topaz is only the beta version, Mark. Not sure I want to buy it. I find it extremely expensive. I can pay for it, but not sure I want to, to be honest. Actually it was taken from the right side of the care through the front window. Not the best angle, so I had to clone here and there, in order to get rid of the sight of the car.

Hmmmm ... Topaz should have a free version that has more filters than you could ever use. I believe they're available for ... what are you using? ... PSP9? Anyway ... don't buy it! Believe me ... none of us has spent a penny on Topaz! Check around for an older but still amazing free downloadable program.

I like this original capture too Helle. Your cloning was very successful as there is no sign of the car. Very well done. I wouldn't like to live this close to a road though as you could step out in front of a car. :)

Thanks so much for posting this, Helle, and I also saw your comment under my comment on the Topaz version of this. I didn't know there was a 'permanent' free version: Check out what Tara said---maybe you can get some of it for free. (They have several modules, right? Or separate filters? Maybe you can get only the ones you want...) What I love about the photo is the composition and the huge presence of the house. It just dominates, and then the piece opens up. And whatever you cloned out, you did it seamlessly---the lack of any activity on this road makes the shot seem abandoned, and gives it an almost eerie stillness. It lent itself really well to Topaz, as this image lends itself to black and white and other monotonal treatments. I don't know why, but it works. Great that you took this from a car, because my car shots were always blurred an ugly. I really like the construction of this shot. Thanks so much for posting it!
