Description
Kirk materialized on a landing platform of some kind, several small craft sitting atop it. The man was turning to find an exit when he was nearly overcome by horror. All about him. people ran from him, while several women of different species stared at him, screaming.
Kirk reeled about, trying to retain control of his own emotions, while across the platform ran two Human males in uniform, clearly police. Drawing their weapons, they slowed, one talking into his helmet's communicator. Joshua fell to one knee as the fear threatened to overwhelm him. Finally, not knowing what else to do, he roared at the others in a deep voice.
"Just calm down!"
Like a switch had been thrown, a calm spread through the others. Kirk glanced around quickly, confused as to what had just happened. The officers stared at the man in stunned silence.
"Lt Kander," The taller of the two slowly spoke into his communicator again, shaking his head. "We have a trained Force user here."
"How do you know that?" Kirk could hear a voice demand.
"He just used Suggestion to calm the crowd down," He replied. "And he's one of those people from that ship in orbit."
"How do you know that?"
"Because we saw him materialize out of thin air, Sir!" The officer said nervously as he raised his weapon.
"There are not supposed to be any visitors from that ship today!" The voice said quickly. "Is he in uniform?"
"Negative, Lt Kander," The man eyed Kirk as he rose to his feet, then continued. "He's wearing a black one piece and boots, with a pack of some kind."
"Detain him," Kander said firmly. "They might be sending spies among us!"
"Sir?" The other cop said with a short laugh. "This is just a kid! About sixteen standard years."
"Do not judge them by appearances!" Kander shot back. "I've met one of that ship's crew! She's their head of security. She looks to be about the same age, but she told me that she's twenty-nine."
The two men turned their attention back to Kirk. The shorter officer raised his weapon. "You will come with us," He said in a firm voice.
"I will not be going with you," Kirk said with a grin. "I've got places to go, and things to do. Hopefully meet some women as well."
"Don't make this hard for yourself, kid!" The man shot back.
"I will not be the one having a hard time," Kirk said quietly before accellerating, the grin now gone. The two officers soon found themselves disarmed and in their own binders, staring up at Kirk in shock. No Human could be that fast or strong! "Never point a weapon at me!" He growled with a deep voice before running across the platform.
Mateesa and Byrne spun about, both trying to locate the being that had just used Force Suggestion.
"Master, do you think it's a Jedi?" Byrne asked the other man.
"No," Mateesa said as he shook his head in confusion. "This person has not been trained," Again, Mateesa shook his head. "But he is powerful!"
"Is something wrong?" Byrne asked, noticing the Master's perplexed expression.
"I don't know," The man replied slowly as he stared off into the distance. "There is something almost familiar about that presence. Like I know him. Yet, I don't think I do."
"Do you want me to gather the others and search for this man?" Byrne asked.
"No, I'll do that," Mateesa told the other as he turned back. "You go meet this Hahd Adralla. Introduce her to Corzo. It's time to send her to Coruscant. If this woman is half as good as I feel she is, we will achieve our objectives three years ahead of schedule."
"Seeing her slicing skills in action convinced me, Master," Byrne said as he climbed atop his jet bike. "She got past the Bank Of Khatta's security in less than ten minutes. It took Ladriss five hours."
"Yes," The Master said as he placed a hand on the others shoulder. "When this is over, I think I'll make her an offer to teach her skills to our people."
"Are you sure she'll do it?" Byrne asked. "By then, she'll be worth billions."
"I think she will," Mateesa told him as he hopped into his speeder. "She strikes me as the kind of person that has to be constantly challenged."
"I wonder what she had to do back aboard that ship that was so important."
"She told me that she had to save the life of a man being held prisoner on it," Mateesa shrugged briefly. "It seemed to be a matter of honor for her. Now go meet her, Darth Byrne, while we start this search."
"Yes, Master Mateesa!"
