Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I remember the controversy when his Swan Lake came out. I love the sub-titles on these fliers.

it's really nice to see these pieces from your collection of things from the world...I do indeed know of MBourne, though I've never seen his company in person. I know he's gotten tons of accolades and awards for his work. I've heard of the male Swan Lake---I'm in favor of all custom-breaking (I wish I could've seen Glenda Jackson's King Lear). You did a good job laying out the pages of programs and the blurbs, etc. Live dance is like nothing else; I worked backstage at a famous concert venue which had Balanchine every year, and got to see them rehearse and also see the dancers closeup from behind the stage. Since I was studying Stravinsky at the time, it was a thrill because Balanchine did several Strav. ballets for the first time. But he also did Bach, and lots of other composers. I also saw the Alvin Ailey company in NYCity, many times, and others. There's nothing like it. Wonderful post, and I'll have to check out Bourne on YouTube...
