The Mesoamericans actually produced marvellous civilizations. It's such a pity that paradoxically they also had such gross superstitions which prompted them to engage in such horrendous practices as human sacrifice. Well, I hope our adventurers can get out of this alive!
Lovely render with gorgeous, almost unearthly golden lighting. Pity it wasn't larger. Hey, what's with those birds all getting entangled there? :)

your light here is exquisite---buttery, like butter and honey. And the eclipse is a beautiful pale brown in the sky. And you have birds in the background---they look like they're making a wreath. And, in front: a scene of political oppression, slavery, etc...as the leader looks at the eclipse, asking it favors. A beautifully lit image, with slavery as an underlying theme, and yet it has mystery and beauty all around it. You really capture the "gold" part of the myth of El Dorado in this series...
