Off to the right you can see a portion of a small pond, which, other than the tiny bit of creek water in the last photo I posted, is the only water we saw in the very dry desert terrain at Ghost Ranch...

As you know, I comment in 'bunches'; a bunch of images per gallery...I don't know why, but I've found that the most immersing, given that I'm away from here as much as present. If I can do 2 sessions in the days I'm here, that's great. (I usually do, with your work.) But as this is my first, this time around, I'm going back a ways, to a little beyond where I left off.
Your shots of the SW, and of G.O'Keeffe's old residence, captured the bleak beauty of the place, as well as the striking hues---quite rich for a landscape that radiates a sense of desiccation and exquisite abandonment. This shot brings out the deep earth-reds; and the reds on that front-right boulder are beautiful, as is the striation you brought out in the stone. It's composed in 3's: the boulder I mentioned, the big bluff on the left, and the peak in the background, giving a feeling of major sight-events in a very broad landscape. You got the spirit and feel of a very special place; and you caught a beautiful blue in the sky.
