Description

Try this link first: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_Den A google for Devil's Den finds all sorts of stuff totally unrelated to the image or the site. Thought I'd chance duplicating a link just to make sure the curious get off to a good start. Not much I can add to the other data out there. If you look around, you will notice a couple of CW reenactors (well, folk in period costume anyway) along with many tourists. All these folks help to put a scale to the boulders and give an idea of the protection they afforded the sharpshooters plinking at the troops on Little Round Top. Early July in PA, unshaded positions and heat rebounding off large rocks along with some unfriendly cusses plinking at you with Minie balls and solid shot. I'm sure this was a well-named rock formation back then. Enjoy; thanks for viewing. Only PW to add some contrast to the shadows. Zoom for full detail.
