Description
The Colosseum
Called by the ancient Romans, "Anphitheatrum Flavlum" (Amphitheater Flavio), the Colosseum is the most famous and impressive monument of Ancient Rome, as well as the world's largest amphitheater.
The name is bound to the large size of the building but derives, above all, from the presence of a colossal Nerone bronze statue nearby.
