Who is this stranger? When, for what reason, by what strange means and by who (or what) did he come to be encased in this large piece of crystal? Is he still alive? Would there be any way to free him, and is there any special reason to do so (or NOT to do so)?

Most excellent carrying out of all these refraction and lighting effects. This render reminds me of a spiritual description of Saturn's world where the surrounding was consisting of crystals of any kind, glowing and sparkling. Even the soft darkness in this render breethes this saturnic mood
