Hello !
My name is Helle. I live in Denmark on the Island, Zealand. I have a husband and two sons and three grandchildren, so I am a happy person.
I like many kinds of art and I try to limit myself, but I dont succeed very well. I love my PSP9 and I think I use it every day. I like to draw, paint and experiment on canvas or paper and I wish I had time do it every day. My biggest wish is, that there would be 48 hours instead of the poor 24 a day. I just dont think it will ever happen ;)
A fantastic new world opened for me, when I was Introduced to Renderosity for the first time. I am very grateful to be a part if this site.

This is so colorful and delicious looking, Helle! I'll bet it was delicious, too.
I've often thought it would be fun to be a commercial food photographer. You don't have to direct carrots or celery, and you don't have to get a model release from a stuffed pepper. The pork chops aren't going to complain about sitting under hot studio lights, and the glazed ham doesn't need a smoke break. It's probably already smoked...
I'm just afraid I'd end up weighing 300 pounds....

I loved this upload for the rich shapes and hues (all your food shots are so appetizing), but also for your story about your sons. Wonderful snippets of your two sons' lives, Helle. If I recall, you also showed these foods after they'd cooked. (I'll find out soon when I re-visit them, next.) Very bright, vivid shot. And re Rod's comment, above: (I should write about this in my gallery):
I witnessed food photography---for ads---and whoa, it's impossible. The client wants their food captured to perfection, and it's almost impossible to please them. Many of the clients don't know squat about art, and they ask the most impossible things in the world. (I.e.: "Make our carrots glow like they're suns and stars..." Or, "make the apple so sexy, every young person in the world will want to eat one...") Then there are all the angles, lights, the reflectors (those big metal 'plates' on top of poles, which reflect light where you want it). And then keeping the food fresh under hot, hot lights: This can be a problem, believe me. And, as for putting on 300 pounds (Rod again): Well, if you're photographing fruits and veggies, you won't gain weight. If you photograph sweets, etc, you might---but by the time you're finished, the food has been sitting under hot lights a long time, and they often warn you not to eat it, as it may have developed bacteria. It's not as fun as it appears, in other words; but it is an art. A very specialized art. And, in my experience, they called on photographers who knew the art consummately. For the prices they paid, they wanted the very best in the field...
