Description

Another unplanned panorama with a few odd bits in the stitching and lots of detail. (There is a white car, half of it anyhow, in the 2nd frame. The car emerges total in the 3rd frame. Magic.) The Confederate lines are still at the treeline from left to right of the first frame. The farm in the mid distance seems to be working. The Union line is clearly traceable by the line of monuments bordering the split rail fence along the road. My geography may be off, but I believe that the clump of trees behind the tall monument in the mid distance of the second frame is the point that Pickett's Charge was aimed at. The small mound in the middle of this frame is the eponymous cemetery. The third frame contains a major stitching error which I've corrected twice! OK, so be it! Stay there. Meh! And this frame contains the area for the rear of the fighting line. The visitor center is somewhere behind the trees and off the right frame. It used to be, IIRC, near the area by the cemetery and seemed obtrusive. Now, along with the space needle, it is gone and out of mind and sight until one looks for it. We'll have closer looks at some of the frames that went into this composite. Enjoy; thanks for viewing.

Man, so MUCH open ground, and long distances to charge through. I wonder how many survived to tell about the hell. And don't worry so much about the stitching. It in fact helps define distances and depth. Keep up the good work! :-)
