Description

We had an almost decent sunset, although I got to it a little late..... I put the Mavic up, anyway and got a few decent shots. I like the way the light was hitting to bottom of the cloud layer. By popular demand..... LOL I'm going to see If I can put a 2018 T.N.A. Calendar together - by 2018! Blame Faemike for planting that seed in what's left of my mind! LOL We'll see what happens.... Working on Page 11 - things are going to be taking some interesting twists soon.... Thanks for all the great comments on my last post - some of them had me cracking up!

Beautiful sunset, and very clear image. I love the contrast of the pinks in the sky to the city lights below. Great capture!

we have had cotton ball clouds here for 2-3 days also. superb aerial capture. if I thought I could fly a drone without destroying it by crashing, I would consider having one

Either a Mavic or a Phantom 4 would be the way to go. DJI drones are designed for photography - they pretty much fly themselves leaving the pilot/photographer plenty of freedom to compose for photos or videos. They're not cheap, but they're excellent little machines.

When I saw the title I got worried Summer had done some damage, but thank goodness, no! A really beautiful photo, Rod! The sun off the bottom of the clouds is fantastic. Take care so you don't crack up too much! We want to have you around for a long time yet! Here it's cold, windy, rainy nights, damp cloudy days, and now that air raid siren test is going off again (first Monday each month, and the Russians AIN'T comin'. Cause Putin said so!). Keep up the good work! You should be able to get so many of these you could make a calendar of nature photos, and another with the TNA. :-)

Can't wait to see what you come up with on that, Rod. Love your Droid capture of the night sky. So beautiful it is.

What a view and the sunset tops it off beautifully. Great color co-ordination with the lights on the building and the sunset too. It is a shame that you can't go up with the drone and see it too. I guess that wont be too far away with all the stuff they invent these days, meanwhile we will enjoy this fabulous sunset. :)

It's a shame the tree in your front yard bit the dust, but wow ... being able to fly your drone out of your front yard ... outstanding!! The clouds are gorgeous, and who knew the gas station on the corner could look so good!

(I'm not writing as much as before, but I still can't resist writing semi-long) Your shots of your area have a real peace about them. This feels like a community settled in for the night, and I love the lights of the foreground shopping center (or gas station or whatever it is), and the distant pink sunset. The shot is 1/2 sky, and that gives it a real feeling of depth. It invites us in, and feels very peaceful...
