Description
Another geothermal pool at Yellowstone, with steam visibly rising. Beautiful to observe, but only from a distance. Some of the water at Yellowstone is as hot as 199 degrees & at least 22 deaths have been recorded there from people who foolishly ignored warning signs & got too close...
Please zoom.

It's not easy to skip, but I have no choice due to time (I'm over an hour now); but the Yellowstone and related shots were a joy. This one has the feel and 'tint' of an old postcard, esp the linen kind (fake) with their yellowed hues and the feeling of an aged photo taken from grandma's attic. I know the hues really are yellow, here---I was in Yellowstone years back---but you still got an aged, yellowed, almost 'oranged' tint to the whole, which is beautiful. The composition brings us from the opening in the sand and stone to a deep green-blue water, right into those misty clouds of steam. The contrasts are wonderful. A beautiful feel, with some striking fleece clouds in the background.
