My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

if it is the edible type, it may have been served with garlic butter....

A metaphor for life. All that patience and hard work and in the end you wind up in the dumpster. Feeling a little dark today. Still, a fine image.

Very nice close-up Tara.

A small life, we don't see it and step on it, terminating it. When I was little my eyes were so close to the ground I could see all the life, I respected it and tried never to step on small life, recognizing they have a function in nature, too. Keep up the good work! :-)

From Wikipedia: "Most species of land snail are annual, others are known to live 2 or 3 years, but some of the larger species may live over 10 years in the wild...." He's probably gone to that big garden in the sky by now.... Or onto someone's plate like Mike said. But not mine.... Gah....
A wonderful macro of the little creature, Tara.

Very nice - you captured the spiral pattern of the shell perfectly. I don't have it often, but I do enjoy my escargot in garlic butter occasionally...

It is a hard life for some. Your snail looks much more colorful than the ones I find in my garden. I'm afraid I don't eat mine as they are a bit slimy for my taste.
