Description
Usually, I don't revisit old pieces. Otherwise, I'm sure I would spend my life re-tweaking and never moving on to anything new. However, after the brilliant comment of SetoKaiba (thank you!!!!!) on the original, I eventually had to go back and apply the advice they gave. Once I was in there, I was surprised to see how many things I hadn't done, things that I consider can't-do-without now. I re-tweaked. Heck, I changed stuff. This isn't a new piece, but it isn't exactly the old one, either - I think it's a little better.
It goes to show that sometimes looking back is worthwhile, even if just to remind yourself how much you've learned :-)

Lovely story telling - great pose of the adult. Like that (a link to the original would have been cool)!
A usful hint or suggestion is what helps you geting better. A "well done" is nice, but a critical comment may pay off twice as much.
Merry Christmas 🎅 to you!

Sorry, never thought to include a link - I don't have that many pictures up that I thought it would be hard to find!
https://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/he-followed-me-/2757631/?p is the original.
A good suggestion (made critically, or neutrally) is always a great thing. I am learning by trial and error, so anything that shortens the path is deeply appreciated! If someone else reads it and gets use out of it, well... then it's just golden :-)

Great expression on her face - and the dragon struggling to get away! Nice piece of work.

Fantastic... Those pesky dragons... always following little princesses home!
I'm guilty of constantly revisiting my old projects. I find it gives me a good way to judge whether I've improved by comparing new and old versions. Happy Holidays!

Kids bring home the oddest "Pets". I like feel of this one a little more than the original.

Excellent work!

A lot of my old stuff is rendered in 3Dlight. Re-rendering, with some modifications, in I-RAY really gives the image a whole new life and feeling. Besides, being creative does not necessarily mean re-creating the wheel in every image you do. Re-visiting older work can be very rewarding. Have a great Christmas.

Thank you for coming to look! I have yet to find the joy of Iray... being comfortable with 3Delight means I get to create as opposed to trouble-shoot :-) Plus, I don't have to spend more! 3Delight has a nice sort of painterly effect, too, that I like, especially since I'm fond of the artists of the golden era of sci-fi and fantasy. You're right, though, about not re-creating the wheel... I just want to spin it around a bit, and see what I get! Have a very Merry Christmas - hope your weather is good! :-)

Nothing wrong with re-doing. The masters did it all the time. Evidence is found under the paint of well-known works, through new scanning techniques. You are not alone. I've done it myself! Great and fun piece! 5++
