I wish this were you; you deserve time off to rest and rejuvenate. You created a quiet moment, with shade and warm quiet light, and a santa sitting in a big chair looking very relaxed. I love his hands---they're old and detailed and look very relaxed. And he's got a glass of wine which is nice. And the light is all behind him, glowing as if in a beautiful night setting. I love the clock too, and the detail in his beard, and that small intimate fireplace. (Compositionally, I love that he's on one side; and you lined up the corner in the wall with his head. Small thing, but it's essential picture-making.) I hope your christmas had sweetness in it, and if there's a santa giving out gifts and blessings, he should stop at your place first, for all you do. I wish you an equally good New Year, Barb, and hope you can get some rest too. (It must be cold and snowy where you are.) All my blessings to you this season.
