Description

This biting fly landed on the back of my neck. I was aware that something alive was there so i cupped my hand and and swatted it. That accomplished the goal of incapacitating whatever was there and prevented squashing it. It was stunned (as a result of the concussive force) and fell to the ground so I picked it up and placed it on my finger tip in order to get a pic. It came around enough to maintain a stable position. I took a few shots and decided to place it in the nearby web of a Garden Spider. Unfortunately the spider did not seem willing to investigate it. I finally got tired of waiting and went on with what I had been doing before it landed on me. By the time I remembered it, it was just some debris in the web. The shot of the fly turned out well and I was quite blown away by the eyes. I had never seen anything like them. Thanks to all who have taken the time to comment on one of my postings.
