Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

This is the coolest I've seen in a long time! Glad you could get a photo without a complaint! :-)

Cool shot of the traveling piano guy, Marilyn. That's what I call bizarre, if nothing else. In fact, the bald guy he's talking to looks kind of strange.

This guy obviously has the 'keys' to eternal happiness.

I can picture him at home one day, thinking "piano, pickup truck...hmmm, what if I put them together - what a brilliant idea!"

now if he plays honky-tonk, I'm outa here!

I've never seen a traveling piano player before, and this is a great shot of it. Your eye was alert, this day: A terrific moment. I Love that these two are talking, while this big piano sits in front of the guy, and the dog sits atop the piano like the RCA dog (the one who listens to the gramaphone? remember that logo?) You got a great moment here, and I love the background too---curvy farmland and fences...love this shot, Marylin.

When I was about six or seven years old, we moved from a small two-bedroom beach cottage to a larger three-bedroom house. Since it was only a matter of a few blocks, there was no moving van. My dad and his friends just took a million loads up the hill in our pickup truck. When they moved the piano, one of the guys sat in the bed of the truck, just like this, and played the only song he knew. He wasn't a musician, and he only knew the song if he started at the very beginning, so every time they hit a bump and he lost his place, he would start over. He played all through town, and had the best time!
