I'm a color pencil artist originally. Some years ago I got the first Painter program called Dabbler. Didn't like it. I went on to get Bryce, then when Painter6 came out, I got that. Been in the digital world of art ever since. Been a member of Renderosity for quite a few years. It really is the best site there is. I believe. I'm a Clinical therapist in the mental health field by occupation. It pays the bills, but it doesn't fulfill the soul like my art. Still, I'm facinated with the "why" of the way people think, feel, and behave. The dynamics of the human condition is infinite, for good or ill.
I keep trying to improve my computer art skills through examples and pieces of other artists on Renderosity. Sometimes I feel like I want to run away and hide because I can't measure up to many of the other artists. Then, when I get comments as well as provide comments, I realize this is not about competition or competing, it's about learning and supporting each other to become better artists.
I also play music and was in a band for a number of years. Sold a song to a record company but nothing ever came of it. I even record my music on the computer now through a program called Cubase. Naively or otherwise, I see myself as a writer too. Trying to get the novel in my head onto paper. Genre? Fantasy/scifi of course.

Very cool idea!! I'm guessing these 2 (and a half) are a team and have been through a heck of a lot including many bodily repairs and replacements. :)

Very good idea and unique style. Anyway I find the blurred parts a little disturbing.

I like this - it's well done. You've obviously spent a load of time on postwork and it's turned out pretty good. But TheWingedOne's right about the blurring - IMO if you use blurring it should be localised and used only to diffuse areas of the picture that aren't really important, thus giving focus to the main image - unless it's motion blur, of course ;) By having blur in various places it does cause a bit of confusion.
Also, try being bolder with your postwork. Instead of using very soft brushes, try getting rid of the anti-aliasing (or whataver it might be called in Painter) and making more use of paint bleeds and fades to blend.
Keep up the good work :)
