Description

Like most Poser users, I have been frustrated by the lack of a new, high-quality female character to replace V4 (whom I have loved for many years, but who does have her limitations). I tried using Daz Studio in order to have access to all the nice Genesis 3/Genesis 8 characters but did not like the totally different way of working and the long render times. Scarlet, Dawn and then Pauline were not the answer, so I kept on using V4 while waiting for Erogenesis's long-standing "Project e" to reach completion, and the wait has been worthwhile. "Evolution" is a great new and high quality character for Poser. I just purchased her this evening (from cgbytes.com) and am posting my first render even before taking the time to read the user guide, so I have just scratched the surface on all the possibilities for this new character. The current "Evolution" character is an "Early Edition", and Ero is working on additional morphs, textures and other improvements, but the price is so reasonable that it is worth getting her now to be able to start experimenting. The outfit and hair are V4 products that I have simply morphed to fit Evolution roughly. But Ero is also providing a means for converting V4 items to Evolution ("Content Support Kit" as a very inexpensive Beta item). The hair is Flirty Hair from Daz3D. The Evolution package includes a number of different ethnic characters/textures; this is the "Nordic Girl" character. The pose is one of the "Undressing" poses included in the Evolution package.

So THAT'S what Evolution is. I didn't really pay attention when I glanced through Renderocita. Definitely an improvement over the standard Poser figures. Fabulous job!

she is beautiful. I bookmarked the site and will consider buying her. I like the secondary morphs for Miki 4, but have always been turned off by all of the Miki's primary morphs. I have never gotten into Scarlet, Dawn and then Pauline. just can not afford all new clothing

Poser is going to die. And you all know that. That's the truth you should face. Do not deceive yourselves. But it's the developer's fault, not your's. Project Evolution will definetely NOT save Poser. Look at her. You don't really believe this, do you? Her face is ugly as sin. I know, it's an early version. But even if it gets better, it will not be able to save Poser for other reasons.

The next DAZ version will likely come with dForce for hair and a further increase in rendering speed. It's just another step to break Poser's neck. And that's only one part in the enduring series of striking blows against Poser and to close/reduce the gap. The number of advantages to prefer Poser over DAZ have melted away like ice in the sunshine during the past years. The developers seem to be sleepwalking into their own doom, bereft of ideas, with low and mid-quality figures, side-changing content developers and users, a bad marketing strategy and without the will to change for the better, because they don't give a shit. They cling to the glorious past and hope it will come back, but it won't. Unless Poser radically reinvents itself, it will fade away. Its death may be slow, but inevitable.

I had a problem with DAZ because they couldn't help me solve a problem I had with morphs not working for V4, M4 and Freak 4 once I installed them in DS. DAZ has worked to make Poser products less compatible with DS. I like much about Poser and some things with DS so I use both when possible. DS renders are brutally slow by comparison. I was forced to stop using V4 when many of the products were for a higher version of Poser than I had, Poser 7. So I installed DS and when the morphs no longer worked for my main characters and DAZ couldn't help, (or wouldn't). I started using Genesis characters. Both companies are hurting the people who use their products as they battle each other. I'll continue to use Poser as much as possible because the render quality is excellent and very fast. Very nice image btw!
