Description

I rendered this in Superfly although the Queen herself is not a Superfly character. The only part of her I had to change was her eyes (half-inched from one of my many SV7 characters). I tried something a bit different with the bodyguard's armour. I took the the image maps of original model (Knight Champion by Valandar) and plugged them into physical surface nodes. A bit of tweaking of the roughness and metallic settings and voilà black lacquered half-plate armour.

Nice work. Looks a bit odd though as there are no shadows even with a harsh light.... If you are superimposing the renders on the background, try some sort of shadow catching. I don't sure poser so can't tell you how to do that in poser.

Thanks for the feedback. I see where you are coming from. I normally use a shed load of shadow in my pictures. Unfortunately the set I was using (First Bastion's Medieval Promenade) is super complex with loads of towers and walls. Basically no matter where I put the light, 90% of the scene was plunged into darkness. In the end, I had to give up and use an IDL Dome, which gives really diffuse lighting. I could have tried a few other things, but I'd been working on it for ages and ran out of patience. What is it Artaud said about art? Art is never finished, merely abandoned. Pretentious, Moi?
