Description

Her name was Bitzy, but Harry always called her, "the Duchess." She had class, you know? Wasn't stuck up about it, either. She was a lady, all right. We never did find out what happened to her. Just that she went on that last mission for the Brits, crossed enemy lines. She sent that last bit of code, then that it was it. Nobody knew nothing. She was gone. Just like that. We was all pretty broken up about it. But it just about destroyed Harry. He kept this picture with him for the rest of his life. We found him clutching it, dead from pneumonia in that cold water flat. "He used to say her memories kept him warm." "Well, evidently, not warm enough," the doc said. "He just about froze to death." "Nah, it wasn't the cold that got him," I said. "It was the pain ... the pain of a broken heart." ---------------- I liked the original, untouched version, but the more I looked at her, the more I realized there was a story to tell. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for looking. SuSoleil

Fantastic job! The aging of the photo is perfect and the story suits it beautifully.
