Description

This is scanned from a 12x10" print on matt paper. The ceramic cramp caplet was one of a series of porcelain pills that I made. I don't miss my darkroom one little bit! See a sepia version which I think I prefer Here

I honestly have no idea what a "cramp caplet" is, but whatever it is, I love the sculpture, and how you made this primal being out of a little capsule or pill. And he makes a fine companion to that skull! You got great textures on this. And, as a film shot, I love it. (Film just doesn't give that sharp 'digital perfection' that we are all so used to: It's softer, more naturally grainy, it has more natural depth, etc, and I love it. I totally appreciate your dislike of the darkroom---I was an assistant in darkrooms decades ago---I just wish there were a digital way to reproduce the special look and feel of darkroom prints, without the chemicals and space requirements. Great darkroom work feels like nothing else...it's unique.) Anyway, I love this combo, and love your sculpture. And the sepia is as good in its own way. I love them both equally.

I like the sepia too. It's got a nice warmth to it. When I hear people talk about the old days in the darkroom, I'm glad I didn't start taking pictures until the advent of digital cameras!
